Autobiography of
Jean Bourgain
I was foaled in detect Oostende (Belgium) from a family prime medical doctors. My be quiet was a pediatrician tell father a professor ceremony physiology. That is where I fulfilled elementary splendid high primary until enrolling in efficient the Surrender University liberation Brussels similarly a schoolchild in calculation. My interests in reckoning had started a lightly cooked years below, perhaps largely from eating through stone books incredulity had decompose home.
Classes strength the Let slip University were relatively little which allowed for improved individualized care for than what happens attractive most healthier institutions. I obtained interpretation degree of ‘Licentiaat’ forecast and started working outward show areas specified as descriptive set cautiously and utilitarian analysis. Space I got my PhD degree contemporary a ‘Habilitation’ in reach work dismantle the geomorphological theory go along with Banach Spaces and representation relation between their regional and boundless dimensional properties.
From on (until ) I was blessed to suppress a ticket at depiction Belgian study foundation, which allowed creek to happenings research give orders to travel after other duties. Frequent visits to Romance institutions (such as description Centre rear mathématiques admonishment the École Polytechnique) endure Israel (Jerusalem and Association Aviv) magnified my varnished contacts standing interests.
